1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Terminal Chat collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the website, the chat product, the optional browser extension, and related features.
2. Information You Provide
When you sign in, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your sign-in provider. When you use the product, we store the messages you send, the files you upload, and the documents, slides, notes, memories, and templates you create. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment provider handles your card details and tells us only that the payment succeeded; we never see or store your full card number.
3. Information Collected Automatically
We collect basic technical information needed to keep you signed in and to keep the service reliable, such as your session, approximate device information, and how much you use each feature so we can apply your plan limits and improve the product.
4. How We Use Information
We use your information to sign you in, run the features you ask for, remember your preferences and history, apply your plan limits, prevent abuse, and send you service-related messages. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your chats to train AI models.
5. AI Responses
When you send a message, we forward it to the AI model you have selected so it can generate a response. We work with leading AI providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others shown in the model picker), and your message is processed by the provider behind the model you chose. Switching models sends future messages to a different provider. Each provider has its own privacy policy.
6. Optional Integrations
Some features are optional and only run when you turn them on or connect them. You can connect your Google or Microsoft account so the assistant can act on services like Drive, Gmail, or Calendar on your behalf — only with the permissions you approve, and only when you ask for it. You can install the browser extension so the assistant can read the page you are currently on and take actions you describe, like clicking buttons or filling forms. You can publish a chat as a shared link so anyone with the link can view it.
7. Who We Share Information With
We share information only with the providers we need to run the service: hosting, AI model providers, the payment processor for subscriptions, and your sign-in or connected-account provider when you use those features. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect users and the service.
8. Data Retention
We keep your account, chats, files, and saved memories for as long as your account is active or until you delete them. Files generated by the assistant for download are removed automatically after a short period. If you delete a chat, a memory, a template, a workflow, or your account, we remove the corresponding data.
9. Your Choices
You can edit or delete your chats, saved memories, templates, and workflows at any time. You can disconnect any linked Google or Microsoft account, which removes our access. You can disable or uninstall the browser extension. You can cancel your subscription from your profile. You can request deletion of your account by contacting us.
10. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data in transit and at rest, and we limit access to the people and systems that need it. No service can guarantee perfect security, so please use a strong password for your sign-in account and keep it private.
11. Children
Terminal Chat is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when the current version took effect. If we make significant changes, we will let you know in the product or by email.
